Flower Planter Program

About the Ballard Alliance Planters

Every spring, sponsored planters are installed on the sidewalks at key intersections throughout the Ballard Improvement Area. A variety of flowers and plants are carefully selected and arranged in each planter. The planters are filled and overflowing with beautiful flowers that brighten the Ballard streetscape with vibrant colors and greenery. The planters are installed in early May and remain in place until October each year. 

Sponsor a Planter! 

Why Sponsor? Your planter sponsorship contributes to the beautification of the Ballard neighborhood through the sponsorship program. This sponsorship opportunity offers a unique way to get involved in the neighborhood and support the Ballard community. Your generous sponsorship contribution supports the necessary bi-weekly watering and maintenance that these flowers and plants require.

Who can sponsor?

Any individual or business in Ballard can sponsor a flower planter. Sponsors have the option to dedicate their contribution to an individual or a business.  

How to Sponsor:  

  • Annual sponsorships are $250 each 
  • Choose to sponsor one of the following 26 planters. See site location map here. 
  • Please note that planter locations are still under permit review and may be adjusted. If the planter location you applied for does not get approved, you will have the option to sponsor the new location of the planter or will receive a full refund.

Where will planters be installed?
Please see the indicated map to review the planter locations. Sponsors will have the opportunity to choose their preferred sponsored planter location. Business and individual sponsors are welcome to sponsor more than one planter! VIEW ENLARGED SITE LOCATION MAP

*Please note: project permit application is pending city approval. If your selected planter location is not approved, you may choose a new location or receive a full refund.

 

What is included in the sponsorship package?

Businesses:  

  • As a business sponsor, you will receive a personalized placard (5” by 4”) (example to the right) that includes your business name and logo within a 2” by 4” space that will be posted in your dedicated planter.  
  • The planter will be named after your business and will be listed on our online Planter Program map. 
  • Your logo featured on the Ballard Alliance website’s Planter Program Page. 
  • Your sponsorship support highlighted in a Planter Program feature article in the Ballard Alliance newsletter.  

Individuals:  

  • Individual sponsors will receive a personalized placard (5” by 4”) (example to the right) with name and the option to include a quote or dedication that will be posted in your dedicated planter. 
  • The planter will be named after the dedicated individual and will be listed on an online Planter Program map. 
  • Your sponsorship support highlighted in a Planter Program feature article in the Ballard Alliance newsletter.
